Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering at CERIS – Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability, DECivil, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal, since September 2017, with an FCT scholarship. Researcher at CERIS in BEStMaintenance_LowerRisks project — Buildings' Envelope SLP-based Maintenance: reducing the risks and costs for owners since January 2020.
Clara Pereira holds a degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (FA-UL). She also holds a master’s degree in Construction and Rehabilitation from IST, University of Lisbon. She worked as an intern architect at nbAA between September 2008 and August 2009, and as a draftswoman at Moldes RP from November 2013 and July 2016. She worked as a research fellow at CERIS between July 2016 and November 2017, working on SLPforBMS project — Service Life Prediction for a risk-based Building Management System.
She has authored more than 20 publications (peer-reviewed papers, conference presentations) and an international book.
Her PhD research focuses on the development of a building inspection system for the non-structural elements of the building envelope and her research interests are mainly focused on the durability and degradation of the building envelope, building inspection systems and building maintenance.
