Maintenance plans are developed with the definition of maintenance actions during the life cycle of buildings, including all the human and materials resources. Life cycle costing is applied to maintenance planning. The impacts of maintenance techniques (e.g. protective treatments) on performance are also studied. Thermal retrofitting with thermal insulating solutions has been the focus of this study which includes aerogel-based renders, ETICS and VIP systems.
