Rui Vasco Silva has carried out extensive research on the use of recycled aggregates from construction and demolition wastes, alternative mineral additions as partial cement replacement and alkali-activated aluminosilicate precursors as sole binder for the production of structural concrete. He is a FCT PhD Researcher (1st place winner in the Civil Engineering of the Stimulus of Scientific Employment, Individual Support 2017 Call) and Managing Director of the FCT-funded RINOPOLYCRETE research project aiming to valorise municipal solid waste incinerator bottom ashes in new construction materials.
